“As the Hawaiians say, Hele me keaau ‘oli, go with joy.”
Things have been quiet on the blog for the last little while and I’m blaming it on a recent trip to my favourite place: Maui. Hawaii, specifically Maui, holds a special place in my heart because it’s where my husband and I were married! We were thrilled to return to celebrate our second wedding anniversary in the very place we shared our special day with our closest family and friends. The moment we stepped off the plane we were greeted by the familiar warm, sticky air filled with the sweet scent of tropical flowers that I love so much. The light breeze and the sound of palm trees gently swaying in the wind feels like the island’s special way of welcoming you. With every trip to Hawaii we truly embrace “Hawaiian time” often loosing track of the time or day of the week. Our mornings were spent at the beach, snorkelling and soaking up the sun and afternoons filled with return visits to favourite shops and exploring new hidden gems. We hiked lush mountain trails, sipped fresh smoothies from roadside fruit stands and watched each gorgeous sunset from the beach with our toes in the sand (a Hawaiian tradition of ours). Dinner on our lanai with a view of the ocean and a glass of wine in hand was the perfect way to end each day. With too many photos to fit into one post, I’m looking forward to sharing a few more in the coming weeks!
